Date(s) of exam: 16 February 2025 to 28 February 2025
As the Exam date is scheduled in February, it gives an additional 45 days to the students preparing for the Exam
From the last week of December, a student has 45-60 days remaining, so it should be used fully for efficient preparation.
This blog addresses preparation strategies for students at various stages:
Those who have covered a significant portion.
Those in the middle of their preparation.
Those just starting out.
For Students Who Have Covered 5-6 Units
If you’ve invested 2-3 months and completed 5-6 units, here’s a recommended study schedule:
Divide Your Study Time into 3 Slots:
Slot 1 (3-4 hours): Focus on new units. Watch live or recorded lectures and study new topics.
Slot 2 (1-1.5 hours): Revise completed units. Use notes, high-speed lecture replays (1.5x or 2x), or standard textbooks.
Slot 3 (1-2 hours): Practice previous year questions (PYQs). Include CSIR NET, DBT, ICMR, and IISER papers.
Additional Tips:
Start preparing for Section A along with Sections B and C.
Don’t skip entire units; focus on at least the important topics within each unit. This is crucial given the changing question patterns.
For Students Who Have Covered 2-3 Units
If you began 1-1.5 months ago and have covered 2-3 units:
Focus on High-Weightage Units:
Prioritise high Weightage Units. These carry significant weight and are highly likely to appear in the exam.Similar 3-Slot Plan:
Slot 1: Cover new units.
Slot 2: Revise completed units.
Slot 3: Practice PYQs.
Plan Strategically:
Start with major units and move to lower-weightage topics later. For instance, tackle Genetics and Animal Physiology after high-yield units.
For Students Starting Now
If you’re just beginning, follow a similar 3-slot strategy:
Focus first on the five most important units
Revise and solve PYQs simultaneously.
Cover the important topics of the remaining units if time does not allow for complete preparation.
